Green Glow contains a greens complex with ingredients including spirulina, chlorella and broccoli.
The greens complex gives nouxx Green Glow its green colour. It combines algae and vegetables as part of the powder blend, alongside collagen, vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
What is in the blend
Spirulina contributes pigments including phycocyanin and carotenoids.[2] Despite often being marketed as a B12 source, much of its B12 is an inactive analogue the body cannot use. Spirulina is not a reliable vitamin B12 source.[2]
Chlorella is a green freshwater alga. Broccoli and spinach are among the vegetables in the mix. Broccoli contains glucosinolates, sulphur-containing plant compounds.[1] Papaya extract is also included.
Food amounts and research doses
There is no recommended daily intake for a greens complex. Research on spirulina and chlorella generally uses gram-level doses taken for several weeks.[3][4] These amounts and preparations differ from a complex included in a 30 g sachet that also contains other ingredients.
Results from those trials do not establish the same effects for Green Glow. The greens complex contributes plant ingredients and colour; it is not a substitute for eating vegetables.
If you take warfarin
Spinach and chlorella contain vitamin K, which matters if you take warfarin. Keep your intake of green foods steady and discuss changes to your supplement routine with the clinician managing your treatment.
EU authorised health claims
We do not make formal health claims for the greens complex itself. Its place in Green Glow is as part of the food blend in your daily routine.
